Who is responsible for your data
Emitlogic Technologies PVT LTD is the data controller for personal data processed through Favourl. For anything on this page — access, correction, deletion, or a complaint — write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Why we are allowed to process it
Where you have an account, we process your email and sync records to perform the contract you have with us — running the service you asked for.
Where you publish a collection, we process and display it, and your name if you chose to be credited, on the basis of your consent. Publishing is opt-in, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by unpublishing or switching to anonymous.
Where we keep crash and error diagnostics, we do so in our legitimate interest in having software that works, balanced against the very limited data involved.
How long we keep it
Your library is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and the synced copy is removed from our systems within 30 days, other than anything we must keep by law.
Unpublished collections leave the public directory immediately. Copies other people imported are theirs and are not ours to delete, and search engine caches are outside our control.
Diagnostic data is kept for up to 12 months.
Who else sees it
Service providers who host and run the platform, under contract and only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Published collections are public by definition — anyone, including search engines and AI crawlers, can read them. That is the point of publishing, and it is why publishing is a separate deliberate action.
Our servers are in India. If you are in the UK or EEA, that means your data may be transferred outside your country; we rely on appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where they apply.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and ask for it in a portable format — the library also exports to standard HTML from inside the app at any time, without asking us.
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing does not affect what was lawful before you withdrew.
If you are in the UK or EEA and think we have got this wrong, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. We do not build advertising profiles and we run no third-party ad pixels.
Links in published collections point at other people’s websites, which have their own cookies and their own privacy policies. Once you follow one, you are on their terms, not ours.
Children
Favourl is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
What we store
The bookmarks you save: the URL, the page title and description, a preview image, the source site, any note you add, and which folder it is in.
If you create an account: your email address, and a record of which devices are syncing so they can be reconciled.
Basic diagnostic data about crashes and errors, so faults can be fixed.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, and we do not share your library with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not read your private bookmarks to build an advertising profile.
We do not require an account. You can use Favourl without giving us an email address at all, in which case your library exists only on your device.
Where your bookmarks live
On your device first. Every bookmark is written to local storage before anything is sent to a server, which is why the app works offline.
If you have an account, a copy is synced so your devices agree. Private bookmarks are not visible to anyone else and are not indexed by search engines.
If you deliberately publish a folder, that folder and its links become publicly readable. Publishing is per folder, is never automatic, and can be undone.
Your data, your call
Export your entire library at any time in standard HTML, the format every browser reads.
Delete your account and the data associated with it from within the app. Deletion removes the server copy; anything still on your device is removed when you uninstall.
Ask us what we hold on you by emailing [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how it is used, we will say so in the app rather than quietly updating this page.
Questions about any of this: [email protected].
